Diriya Urban Housing Programme was started with the intention of converting the temporary and partially constructed housing stock in urban areas into the standard housing stock. Under the first phase of this programme, housing loans amounting to Rs. 52.00 million has been granted to 255 beneficiaries in the Kaduwela Municipal Council area. 180 beneficiaries from the urban areas of Colombo district were selected under Phase II of the project and a financial provision of Rs. 38.00 million has been received to grant them housing loans.
